Shields takes another Leap of Faith on Broadway

The actress will join Raul Esparza in the show, which will open in September (10).

Shields will play Marva, a small-town single mother played by Lolita Davidovich in the 1992 film.

It will mark her first return to the New York stage since she wowed audiences and critics in Chicago and off-Broadway’s Love, Loss and What I Wore.

Tony Award winner Rob Ashford, who is currently tasting success with his Promises, Promises, will direct and choreograph the piece.
