Shonda Rhimes and Eric Dane clash online over Donald Trump

Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes and former show star Eric Dane have been embroiled in an online spat about vulgar comments made by Donald Trump.
Footage surfaced on Friday (07Oct16) of Trump making lewd comments about women with then-Access Hollywood co-host Billy Bush in 2005.
In the now infamous audio leak, the real estate mogul is heard saying, “I’m automatically attracted to beautiful (women)… I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
He then shockingly added, “Grab them by the p**sy, you can do anything.”
Trump has since issued an apology, along with Bush, however Rhimes was unimpressed by his comments, and tweeted her frustration with some men’s condemnation of the billionaire politician, crediting having wives, daughters and mothers as a reason to criticise his comments.
“Men, stop with ‘we have wives, daughters’ as reason not to condone his actions,” she posted on Friday. “You don’t condone his acts becuz (sic) you know right from wrong.”
Dane, who played Dr. Mark Sloan on the hit hospital drama until 2012, replied to her post, explaining his reasons for criticising Trump.
“True… but which is the stronger rational? I’d kill for my wife/daughters. I would not do the same to be right/wrong…,” Dane wrote.
He later posted a tweet directed at Rhimes, which read, “How bout this – f**k @realDonaldTrump and I could give no f*x (sic) about @shondarhimes opinion. My wife and 2 girls. He needs to b btch (sic) slapped.”
The response to his bafflingly bitter tweet was shared by Rhimes, who replied, “Um?”
Dane, who is married to actress Rebecca Gayheart, later tried to clarify his comments, explaining he had no ill feeling towards his former boss. “Settle down people I luv @shondarhimes But @realDonaldTrump? Cmon folks, are you crazy? Are you really supporting this a**? Wake the f**k up,” he wrote.
He added, “To be clear. I have nothing but profound respect for @shondarhimes and misread her statement, so chill. @realDonaldTrump is still a douche!”
“Yep. Chill,” Rhimes replied. “If I misread a tweet and thought @RealEricDane was supporting that dude, I’d be going off too.”
