The Shakespeare In Love star has recorded the free audiobook, titled Stanley’s Tall Tale, to help the animals ‘understand’ the noises associated with Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night, a traditional British celebration held annually on 5th November.
The story uses a number of animal psychology techniques and communicative soundbites that are said to capture a dog’s attention and help it relax.
Callow says in a statement, “Having two dogs myself I know just how terrifying the sound of fireworks can be to animals. I hope that lending my voice to the bedtime story can go some way to help petrified pups relax this Bonfire Night.”
