Simon Le Bon surprises Nile Rodgers with award dedication

Duran Duran star Simon Le Bon flew to the Spanish island of Ibiza to honour Nile Rodgers at a music industry event this week (beg19May14). The Rio hitmaker headed to the International Music Summit (IMS) to surprise Rodgers, his longtime friend and collaborator, at the event’s annual industry dinner on Wednesday (21May14).
The singer paid tribute to the Chic star’s career before presenting him with the Legends Award accolade.
Le Bon then performed with Rodgers, bringing funk icon George Clinton and Labelle singer Nona Hendryx onstage for a rendition of We Got The Funk.
The Duran Duran star writes in a post on Twitter.com, “Amazing night in Ibiza at IMS event to celebrate Nile Rodgers… Favourite moment of the evening was sharing the stage with Nile Rodgers, Nona Hendrix (sic) & George Clinton for an impromtu (sic) We Got The Funk.”
