Singer and keyboardist Eddie Hardin dead at 66

Former SPENCER DAVIS GROUP and AXIS POINT member EDDIE HARDIN has died at the age of 66.
The singer and keyboardist passed away last week (ends26Jul15) after suffering a heart attack.
A message on Hardin’s website from his wife, Liz, reads, “It is with deepest sadness and regret that I have to deliver the news that Eddie passed away yesterday. The cause was a heart attack while he was in the pool. My husband and friend for 32 years. R.I.P. “Deep In My Despair”, but the happy memories will linger on.”
Hardin first joined the Spencer Davis group in 1967, replacing Steve Winwood.
He left the group in 1969 to form Hardin and York with Pete York, who he worked with until 1995.
Hardin rejoined the Spencer Davis Group in the 1970s and recorded Gluggo and Living in a Back Street.
However, he left shortly afterwards to form Axis Point.
He also enjoyed solo success and worked with Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover and Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey.
