Smithsonian opens “Star Wars” Exhibit

The driving Force behind the Smithsonian’s newest exhibit: Star Wars starfighters. The Smithsonian will open Saturday an exhibit dedicated to the spacecrafts of the sci-fi phenomenon, Star Wars: The Art of the Starfighter, which details the inspiration behind the design of George Lucas’s various flying machines. According to The Associated Press, the focus will be the starfighters of The Phantom Menace, most notably the sleek yellow Naboo Royal N-1 – the craft young Anakin flew in the film’s climactic battle. The exhibit wraps up in Washington, D.C., on June 24 before going on tour at affiliated museums.
