Snoop Dogg has donated $10,000 to NFL football player Colin Kaepernick’s social activism campaign.
Kaepernick, who has courted controversy for kneeling during the U.S. national anthem at various football games to draw attention to racial discrimination and acts of police brutality, pledged to donate $1 million to various charities in 2016 and now Snoop Dogg is helping the cause.
The Gin and Juice hitmaker has pledged to match Kaepernick’s $10,000 donation to organization Mother’s Against Police Brutality. NBA basketball players Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, and actor Jesse Williams have also contributed to the 10 For 10 campaign.
Kaepernick, who opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers to become a free agent last year (17), has donated funds to over 40 organizations. His protest movement has been supported by hundreds of celebrities and football players, but he has yet to sign on to play with another team.
