Soap actor Larkin Malloy dies

Soap opera actor Larkin Malloy has died at the age of 62.
The actor and acting teacher passed away from complications following a heart attack he had suffered on Saturday (24Sep16), his former All My Children co-star Walt Willey announced on Facebook on Thursday (29Sep16).
Malloy is best known for his work in soaps, most notably playing Travis Montgomery on All My Children from 1987 to 1998. He also appeared on The Edge of the Night between 1980 and 1984, Guiding Light from 1985 to 1987, and served as the announcer for As the World Turns between 2002 and 2006.
He also enjoyed roles in shows Loving, Law & Order, and Tainted Dreams, as well as the Adam Sandler comedy movie Big Daddy.
“Larkin Malloy welcomed me like a brother when I joined the cast in 1987,” Willey wrote. “We worked together, did appearances together, partied together, vacationed together… We spent many hours together, both on set and off, and truly were ‘Irish brothers from another mother.’ Tommy, you will be missed. Love you, brother.”
Malloy’s death comes the same week (beg26Sep16) as the passing of All My Children creator Agnes Nixon. She was 93.
