Spike Lee narrowly avoids flying bat at baseball game

The moviemaker was in the stands at the Yankee Stadium watching the New York Yankees take on the Los Angeles Angels with his little boy when home team player Mark Teixeira accidentally flung his bat into the crowd.

Lee and his son, Jackson, were pictured diving out of the way, before grabbing the bat and laughing as they happily posed for pictures with it. They later had it signed by Teixeira.

The moviemaker writes in a post on his Twitter.com page, “Special shout to my man Mark Teixeria for signing the bat that flew into the stands at Yankee Stadium. Tip. When bat is headed to you – run/duck.”
