TV critics pointed out the timing error, explaining the Springfield tune wasn’t released until six months after the events of the episode, which airs in the U.S. on Sunday (25Mar12).
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner says, “Although we take license for artistic purposes with the end-title music, we never want the source music to break from the time period we are trying to recreate.”
