Allison Coss and Scott Sippola were arrested in December, 2009, after they allegedly threatened to release snaps of the E.R. and Glee star surrounded by cocaine and strippers unless he handed over $680,000 (GBP453,000).
In July, 2010, Coss, 24, and Sippola, 31, were found guilty of conspiracy and using email to threaten a person’s reputation and sentenced to four years behind bars.
The pair later launched bid for leniency and now a federal appeals court in Cincinnati has rejected the plea, ruling Coss and Sippola must carry out the remainder of their prison term.
The opinion, obtained by Eonline.com, reads, “Because the indictment was sufficient, the extortion statute is constitutional, and their sentences were properly imposed, we AFFIRM the defendants’ convictions and sentences.”
