Stars line up for Randy Travis tribute show

Kenny Rogers, Tanya Tucker, and Montgomery Gentry are among the stars lining up to salute country icon Randy Travis at an upcoming tribute concert.
Alabama, Rodney Atkins, Jamey Johnson, Ricky Skaggs, Josh Turner, and The Randy Travis Band will also take part in the 8 February (17) event, titled 1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time: A Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis, which will be held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
A statement released by show producer Tony Conway reads: “Nashville is coming together on February 8 for one night in one place and at one time to give back to their friend and musical hero, Randy Travis.
“It’s amazing to see the support that Randy has received from the music industry since his stroke. We’re thrilled to have all of these artists come out and pay tribute to him.”
Randy has been fighting to regain his voice since suffering a debilitating stroke in 2013, and he staged his first official performance since the health crisis last month (Nov16), when he took the stage at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville for an emotional rendition of his hit Forever and Ever, Amen.
He was joined onstage by the likes of Vince Gill, event co-host Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Dwight Yoakam, Alabama, Alan Jackson, and Charlie Daniels.
He also surprised attendees in October (16), when he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, by singing Amazing Grace during the ceremony.
A portion of the proceeds from the 1 Night. 1 Place. 1 Time: A Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis gig will be donated to the Randy Travis Foundation, a charity which raises money for stroke research and rehabilitation.
