Incumbent Democrat Barack Obama is going head-to-head with Republican rival Mitt Romney in the race for the White House, and a number of famous faces have made public appeals to get fans to the polling booths.
Glee star Lynch posted a video on her Twitter.com page and urged Americans to get their vote in, writing, “Make time in your day tomorrow to vote,” and actor Lowe adds, “Thanks to all volunteers on both sides for your passion for our great country. Now, we all must do our part. Vote!!”
The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder writes, “See you at the polls! Good luck Mr. President I look forward to having breakfast with you again! Vote vote vote!”, while burlesque star Dita Von Teese posted a retro-style picture of a woman holding a sign which reads, “Vote!”
Stars of the music world have also spoken out in a bid to convince voters to turn out, with Cher writing in a post on Twitter, “God bless ppl (people) who stood in voting lines 4 (for) hours! You are heroes! For tomms (tomorrow’s) voters please be strong!” and fellow pop star Perry posted a picture on her own page showing herself standing with Obama.
Motley Crue star Nikki Sixx also added his voice, writing, “I don’t care who you vote for, just f**king do it. The power is in our hands. Vote… The right to vote is your country’s gift to you. Voting is your gift to your country. Please vote. Vote.”
