Status Quo cancel Berlin gig as frontman battles chest infection

Veteran British rockers Status Quo scrapped a concert in Berlin, Germany on Monday night (11Dec17) after frontman Francis Rossi fell ill.
The singer/guitarist was left “incapacitated” by a suspected chest infection, according to the band’s manager.
A statement read: “He is currently receiving medical attention in Germany and has left it to the last possible moment to cancel in the hope that he would be able to recover enough to perform, but unfortunately that has not been the case.
“There’s absolutely no way that Francis could take to the stage and deliver the kind of performance that the band’s fans expect and deserve.”
Rossi’s health concerns come a year after the death of longtime bandmate and Quo co-founder Rick Parfitt, who died from sepsis at the aged of 68 in December, 2016.
Parfitt had been forced to quit touring earlier in the year, after he suffered a heart attack following the band’s concert in Turkey that July.
