Sterling K. Brown has gone through a surprise home birth just like his This Is Us character Randall Pearson.
The star revealed the intimate detail to fans as he live tweeted during an emotional scene which showed his character helping wife, Beth, played by Susan Kelechi Watson, give birth to their first baby at home.

Sterling, 41, tweeted he had had prior experience of a similar birth, telling fans: “An unexpected home delivery is something my wife and I went through ourselves with our first born, so this was round 2 for me! #ThisIsUs.”
The People v. O.J. Simpson star has two sons with his actress wife Ryan Michelle Bathe, sons Andrew, six, and two-year-old Amare, and told E! News in September (17) his eldest child is a natural in front of the camera.
“The six-year-old is in first grade, and he’s got a lot of personality,” he smiled. “Any time you turn the camera on to this child, he shows up.
“He wants to be a scientist, so we’re really hoping the scientist thing happens. Because he wants to be better than Einstein. But then he goes, ‘Sexy dance, sexy dance, sexy dance.’”
“He’s going to be a weird scientist,” joked Sterling.
