DJ Steve Aoki has become the first electronic dance music artist to land a spot in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.

The hitmaker, who is one of only three DJs to be part of a display at the museum, has agreed to donate touring equipment, including his Pioneer decks and Rane SL3 Serato interface, to curators of the Ray Dolby Gateway to Culture display, according to Billboard.

“Look mom I made it into the @smithsonian what an absolute honor,” he wrote on Twitter last week (ends19Oct18). “Come find me… if you’re there!”
