Steve Perry wins restraining order against songwriter

Former Journey frontman Steve Perry has been granted a restraining order against a former songwriting partner.
The rocker is suing Phil Brown, claiming he is planning to release tracks they recorded together in the early 1990s, which Perry considers for demo purposes only – and he doesn’t want his fans to hear them.
In October (18), Brown’s manager reportedly promoted the release of the lost tracks on social media after Perry dropped his latest solo album, Traces, and earlier this month (Nov18), the rocker sued for an injunction prohibiting his one-time collaborator from releasing the music and for unspecified damages.
According to The Blast, Perry has now obtained a restraining order against Brown, barring him from releasing any of the tracks featuring Steve. He has also been banned from using Perry for promotional purposes.
The lawsuit is ongoing.
