Steve Smith returns to Journey for 2016 summer tour

Rockers Journey have replaced fired drummer Deen Castronovo with former band member Steve Smith for a massive 2016 tour.
The Don’t Stop Believing hitmakers kicked Castronovo out of the band ahead of a string of summer (15) dates, after he was charged with assault following an altercation with a former girlfriend.
He was replaced by session musician Omar Hakim, and now Smith has landed the drummer role in the band on a more permanent basis, hitting the road with the group for a co-headlining summer (16) tour with the Doobie Brothers and special guest Dave Mason.
The San Francisco Fest 2016 will begin in Irvine, California on 12 May (16).
Smith won’t be the only new band member onstage – the Doobie Brothers have recruited Little Feat keyboard player Bill Payne for the trek.
