The copy of Action Comics No. 1, which featured the debut of Superman, was among a number of personal belongings swiped from the actor’s Hollywood home over a decade ago.
The collector’s item, dating back to the 1930s, was insured and Cage cashed in his policy following its theft.
But the graphic novel is now at the centre of a big mystery after detectives found the comic book in a storage locker in the San Fernando Valley.
