Streep treats top politicians to The Iron Lady preview

Just hours after she was honoured with the New York Film Critics Awards Best Actress trophy for her performance in The Iron Lady, the actress hosted a screening of the film at the Spy Museum.

Oscars experts expect Streep to pick up her third Academy Award for the portrayal of the former British Prime Minister.

Top politicians Jack Warner, Barbara Mikulski, Kay Bailey Hutchison and Charles Robb were among those in attendance.

Streep wasn’t there just to boost publicity for her new film – she was also promoting the National Women’s History Museum, which officials are hoping to build along the National Mall in the U.S. capital.
