Sturgill Simpson heading to Comic-Con to debut anime film trailer

Country star Sturgill Simpson is heading to San Diego Comic-Con to debut footage from his forthcoming rock anime film Sound & Fury.
The Grammy-winning musician has teamed up with Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki and Batman Ninja director Junpei Mizusaki to combine American rock music and traditional Japanese animation for the new project, which they will discuss as part of a panel for the annual California event.
Titled Sound & Fury: Creators of Animatrix and Batman Ninja Unite for Sturgill Simpson, the discussion on 20 July (19) will include the premiere of the movie’s first trailer.
It isn’t Simpson’s first foray into the film industry – he recently released the original theme song The Dead Don’t Die for director Jim Jarmusch’s zombie comedy of the same name.
