Suzanne Shaw reduces workload following father’s death

British actress and former Hear’say singer Suzanne Shaw is taking “a step back” from her career to focus on her family following the death of her father last year (12). The 31 year old regularly travelled for hours after work to spend time with her dad Vincent Crowshaw before he passed away in September (12) from a brain tumour, and Shaw – who split from husband Jason King in 2012 – has now vowed to cut back on her jobs to spend quality time with her son Corey.
She tells Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper, “After last year I’m in a really good place. I lost my father to a brain tumour which was really tough. I was on the road when it was all happening and I just wanted to be at home.
“I was travelling up and down from London to spend the night with my dad, then he passed away and I went straight into panto (pantomime). It was tough and I just wanted to be home with my boy. It made me realise life is too short to be on the road so much just to pay the bills. I don’t care if I don’t make much money, I need to take a step back.”
Shaw also reveals she and former Hear’Say bandmate Myleene Klass turned to each other for support when their marriages broke down in 2012.
She adds, “We’ve both been going through divorces recently and have been there for each other. She doesn’t live that far from me and we speak all the time. It’s really nice to support each other and to be able to confide in each other.”
