Tamara Ecclestone robbery case dropped

A man accused of robbing Tamara Ecclestone’s husband at knifepoint has been cleared. Jay Rutland, who married the British socialite last year (13), was attacked in London after getting out of his car in Wanstead in the early hours of 17 July (13).
A 21-year-old suspect was charged with the robbery, but a trial set for last month (Dec13) was adjourned and now prosecutors have dropped all charges due to a lack of evidence.
A spokeswoman for Rutland tells Britian’s The Times, “Mr. Rutland respects the decision of the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service). Clearly he is disappointed that the proceedings didn’t result in a conviction.”
The robbery occurred just weeks after Rutland returned from his honeymoon with Ecclestone following their wedding in the French Riviera last June (13).
