Taraji P. Henson signs with new publicists

Taraji. P. Henson has signed on with publicity company 42West after parting company with Pam Sharp, the girlfriend of her disgraced former manager.
The Empire star was previously represented by the founder of Sharp & Associates, the longtime partner of Vincent Cirrincione, who has been accused by nine women of sexual harassment and misconduct in an article run by The Washington Post earlier this month (Feb18).
The Oscar and Emmy nominee has cleaned house after she condemned the alleged behaviour on social media, and subsequently dropped Cirrincione as her manager.
“I feel saddened, disappointed and ashamed,” Henson wrote in a post on Instagram. “Everyone knows how difficult this industry has been for women and my hope is that all of these unspeakable events ignite true change in the treatment of women in this entertainment business.”
The Hidden Figures star initially told the Post she was unaware of her manager’s actions and had never “witnessed any inappropriate behaviour”.
“I’ve never had any issue with this on any level,” she said. “He totally respected me. He saw a single mother trying to make her dreams come true, and he nurtured that.”
Former client Halle Berry shared with the news outlet that she fired Cirrincione after hearing of his alleged sexual misconduct three years earlier.
The talent manager has admitted to engaging in affairs but insisted to the Post that all interactions were consensual.
“I have never used favours, sexual or otherwise, as a reason for managing anyone,” he said. “I apologise to these women, my past and present partner, my clients and employees for the pain this is bringing them.”
