Taylor Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 lead Billboard Music Award nominations

Taylor Swift, Fun. and Maroon 5 have been tipped for glory at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards after landing a whopping 11 nominations each. The Love Story hitmaker will compete for the title of Top Artist alongside Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, One Direction and Rihanna, and she’s also aiming to take home trophies for Top Social Artist and Top Country Artist, among others.
fun. and Maroon 5 will duke it out in the categories of Top Group, Top Digital Songs Artist and Top Hot 100 Song for their respective tunes Some Nights and One More Night, while Top New Artist will be a battle between One Direction, Gotye, Carly Rae Jepsen, the Lumineers and South Korean rapper Psy.
In addition, Swift will fight for Top Female Artist, as will Jepsen, Adele, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, and Bieber will strive for the male equivalent alongside Bruno Mars, Drake, Jason Aldean and Flo Rida.
The winners will be announced during a ceremony hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan in Las Vegas on 13 May (13). Swift, Bieber, and Mars are among those slated to perform.
