Taylor Swift scores record-breaking sixth title from Nashville Songwriters organisation

Country superstar Taylor Swift has been named the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Songwriter/Artist of the Year for the sixth time. The Love Story hitmaker, who first won the title in 2007, was unveiled as the 2013 honouree on Tuesday (08Oct13), marking her fifth consecutive win since 2009.
Her latest accolade places her ahead of five-time winners Vince Gill and Alan Jackson, while, at 23, she remains the youngest artist to ever receive the honour, which recognises Nashville-based stars for their U.S. chart hits.
In the year from July, 2012 to June, 2013, Swift achieved chart success with 14 songs, including We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I Knew You Were Trouble and Red.
Her awards will go on display at the new Taylor Swift Education Center, which is set to open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on Saturday (12Oct13).
The singer previously aided the construction of the building with a $4 million (£2.67 million) donation – the largest single cheque made in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s 46-year history.
