Ted Danson freaked out by autopsy visit

Csi: Crime Scene Investigation star Ted Danson still squirms over the memory of his first autopsy because one of the bodies before him looked like it was about to come back to life. The actor, who plays forensics expert D.B. Russell on the TV show, signed up for a morgue visit in Las Vegas after taking on the TV role so he would know what the real experts do following a suspicious death.
He admits the autopsy “changed my life” and he spent much of his time among the dead trying to control his racing heart.
Danson recalls, “They suited me up and I walked in… One guy, who was completely splayed open, was like a science experiment… but that wasn’t as scary as the person who looked like he did probably five minutes before he died; he looked like he had just closed his eyes. That was death.
“I still can’t talk about it without going, ‘Good Lord’… I ended up holding this man’s skullcap while they weighed his (brain).
“I went home and wept and called my wife… It changed me. It was big.”
