Terry Richardson ordered to hand over Lady Gaga photos for lawsuit

A U.S. judge has ordered celebrity photographer Terry Richardson to hand over 142,000 snaps he took of Lady Gaga during her Monster Ball tour as part of the singer’s ongoing legal battle with her former assistant. Jennifer O’Neill, who worked as Lady Gaga’s personal assistant, is suing the Poker Face singer and her tour company over allegations she is owed $380,000 (£245,161) for 7,168 hours of unpaid overtime during the 2009-2011 trek.
O’Neill claims the pictures are important evidence in her lawsuit against Gaga as they show how closely she worked with the star and the long hours she allegedly put in.
Richardson initially moved to quash the subpoena which ordered him to hand over the snaps, but Judge Paul G. Gardephe demanded he turn over the pictures during a hearing at Manhattan Federal Court in New York City last week (beg01Jul13).
Judge Gardephe cited the relevance of the photos to O’Neill’s claim and ruled that Richardson “hasn’t demonstrated to (the court) that there is any significant burden in producing the photographs”.
Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, is fighting the suit and blasted her former employee in a sworn deposition in February (13) as a “f**king hood rat” and labelled the lawsuit “bulls**t”.
