The Blackout scrap tour as frontman falls ill

Rockers The Blackout have been forced to scrap their current U.K. and Northern Ireland tour after a blinding migraine forced frontman Gavin Butler to leave the stage at a show in Manchester on Saturday night (26Oct13). The singer has since revealed he was suffering a hemiplegic migraine, which affected his motor skills.
Doctors have advised Butler to rest up, prompting the band to axe their remaining dates.
Announcing the news on Facebook.com, the band writes, “Long story short, at our show at Manchester Academy 2 last night (Oct 26th), Gavin suffered a recurrence of a neurological issue known as a hemiplegic migraine, which can affect motor skills, including speech and loss of sensation in certain limbs. As a result, he left the stage two songs from the end of the set.
“Having consulted local medical advice, in addition to what Gavin was told in hospital when this issue had occurred earlier this year, it’s become clear that one of the key issues in helping Gav get better is rest.”
As a result, seven upcoming dates have been cancelled, including Sunday night’s (27Oct13) gig in London.
