The Good Rats leader Peppi Marcello dies

Rocker Peppi Marchello has died weeks after undergoing heart surgery. The leader of cult Long Island, New York band The Good Rats passed away on Wednesday (10Jul13), according to a post on the band’s Facebook.com page.
Marchello, who was reportedly on the mend following his hospitalisation, formed the group that was to become The Good Rats in the mid-1960s and the band released its self-titled debut album in 1969.
The group’s songs included Joey Ferrari and Injun Joe, which featured on its hit 1974 album Tasty.
Marchello’s bandmates have included KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick and Twisted Sister star Joey Franco.
