‘The Shape of Water’ Leads Critics’ Choice Awards Nominations

Guillermo Del Toro’s odd romance The Shape Of Water looks set to triumph at the Critics’ Choice Awards in January (18) after landing 14 nominations.

The film, starring Sally Hawkins as a mute woman who falls for a fish-like man, leads all nods handed out by officials at the Broadcast Film Critics Association on Wednesday (06Dec17).

The nominations include Best Picture, Director and Original Screenplay for Del Toro, and acting mentions for Hawkins and her co-stars Richard Jenkins and Octavia Spencer.

Dunkirk, Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird, and The Post scored eight nominations apiece, while Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Big Sick landed six nods, and Get Out five.

Mini-series Feud: Bette And Joan picked up the most TV category nods with six, while Fargo and Big Little Lies landed five apiece.

The honors will be handed out at the 23rd annual Critics Choice Awards on 11 January (18).
