An episode of hit cartoon The Simpsons has sparked outrage among conservative
groups in America, who accuse it of promoting gay marriage.
On Sunday’s episode of long-running show, character Homer Simpson
performed dozens of gay marriages, and his wife Marge’s sister, Patty Bouvier,
showed up with her girlfriend.
But while the episode entertained a number of fans, L. Brent Bozell III, the
president of the Parents Television Council, blasts, “At a time when the public
mood is overwhelmingly against gay marriage, any show that promotes gay
marriage is deliberately bucking the public mood.”
Representatives of network Fox TV have declined comment.
