The Wedding: ‘Friends’ and Fireworks

Celebrity guests? Fireworks? Malibu? It must be a celebrity wedding. In case you’ve been under a rock for the past few days, Hollywood glam couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston tied the knot Saturday in Malibu, Calif.

And contrary to earlier reports, the wedding did not take place at the 36-year-old heartthrob’s Malibu home. Doing the honors was the estate of television producer Marcy Carsey (“3rd Rock from the Sun,” “That ’70s Show”).

The couple were married under a white tent with the Pacific Ocean as their background and 200-plus guests as their witnesses. It was the first marriage for the bride and groom.

Aniston wore a floor-length white satin gown designed by Lawrence Steele, the same designer who crafted her plunging-neckline Oscar gown this year. Her suede sandals, ivory and high-heeled, were designed by Manolo Blahnik.

Pitt (“Fight Club,” “Meet Joe Black”) wore a black tuxedo designed by Hedi Slimane. His attendants donned black tuxedos designed by Prada.

The Arquettes Among the guests shuttled via limousine to the nuptials: Edward Norton (Pitt’s co-star in “Fight Club”) with date Salma Hayek (she costarred with Matthew Perry in “Fools Rush In”); “Friends” co-star Perry; Cameron Diaz (she and Aniston costarred in “She’s the One”); “Friends” co-star Lisa Kudrow; and “Friends” co-star Courteney Cox Arquette and husband David Arquette.

Oh, and about those fireworks. Some items reportedly on the wedding tab: $20,000 for fireworks; $750,000(!) for the wedding ring; $80,000 to fly in guests; $100,000 for security; $75,000 for flowers; and $100,000 for live entertainment.

According to reports, Paris Match magazine will have exclusive rights to the wedding photos. Money for the photos will be donated to charity.
