‘The Young and the Restless’ Leads Daytime Emmy Awards Nominations

Long-running soap The Young And The Restless is set for a big night at the Daytime Emmy Awards next month (Apr17) after landing 25 nominations.

The daytime show will compete in the Outstanding Drama Series category, alongside The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, and General Hospital, while actors Peter Bergman and Kristoff St. John will go up against Scott Clifton (The Bold and the Beautiful), Billy Flynn (Days of Our Lives), and Vincent Irizarry (Days of Our Lives) in the lead actor category, and Gina Tognoni and Jess Walton will face off against Nancy Lee Grahn (General Hospital), Heather Tom (The Bold and the Beautiful), and Laura Wright (General Hospital) for the lead actress trophy.

Jennifer Aniston’s father, John, has landed an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series nod for his Days of Our Lives role. He’s up against Steve Burton (The Young and the Restless), Chad Duell (General Hospital), Jeffrey Vincent Parise (General Hospital), and James Reynolds (Days of Our Lives).

Meanwhile, The Talk, The View, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Maury, and Live! with Kelly will compete for the Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show award and The Wendy Williams Show, The View, Harry Connick, Jr’s new show Harry, The Real, Live! With Kelly, and The Talk are up for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts.

The 44th Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on 30 April (17) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.
