Thieves target Olympics hero James Cracknell

Thieves have stolen $30,000 (£20,000) worth of personal possessions from Olympic gold medal-winning British rower James Cracknell in a burglary at his home. The raiders struck while Cracknell was spending a night in hospital as part of his ongoing treatment for injuries received in a cycling accident in 2010.
They stole electrical equipment and four top-of-the-range pushbikes as the sportsman’s wife and three children were asleep upstairs at the property in London.
Cracknell says, “It’s terrifying to think that thieves broke into my home while I was away and my family were sleeping upstairs. I am especially upset about a camera which has gone containing irreplaceable family photos.”
The rowing champion suffered severe head injuries in a collision with a truck in 2010 and is still suffering ongoing health issues as a result.
