Tiffany Haddish is dismissing reports suggesting she indicated Sanaa Lathan as the woman who bit Beyonce at a party last year (17), insisting she never confirmed the actress’ identity.
The Girls Trip star opened up about the bizarre showdown in a GQ interview earlier this year (18), revealing Beyonce had asked her not to make a fuss about the incident – and to keep the woman’s identity to herself.
Tiffany merely suggested the biter was a fellow actress, who Beyonce had told her was on drugs.
The story prompted Bey’s fans to play detective in an effort to uncover the culprit – and many suggested Out of Time star Lathan was a prime candidate.
In June, Tiffany elaborated on the incident, revealing the parents of the mystery woman were upset with her for simply bringing up the story. All eyes subsequently returned to Lathan, especially when Tiffany reportedly nodded when the reporter asked her if Sanaa was the woman in question.
However, Haddish is now insisting she never confirmed Sanaa as the Beyonce biter.
“I didn’t confirm s**t,” she tells Glamour magazine. “The reporter was like, ‘Sanaa Lathan?’ I’m, like, three drinks in, so of course I was about to laugh. They thought I put her name out there, but I didn’t. I never said nothing. And Beyonce didn’t say nothing. Let the person who (bit Beyonce) bury themselves… I ain’t trying to destroy this girl (sic). I didn’t say s**t about the girl.”
Sanaa has also denied the reports and recently revealed she finds the whole saga comical.
“I’ve been in the business for a long time,” she said on U.S. chat show The Talk. “Me and my friends, we laughed our a**es off. We thought it was funny. It was so absurd… It was like this big whodunnit!”
