Tiffany Haddish reduced to tears by surprise Oprah Winfrey meeting

Comedienne Tiffany Haddish cried tears of joy on Wednesday (21Feb18) after she was surprised by a visit from her heroine Oprah Winfrey on TV.
The Girls Trip star was a guest on a pre-taped episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, during which she recalled the one time she met media mogul Oprah on a film set.
“I did this movie called Their Eyes Were Watching God and I was an extra and it was a movie that Oprah was producing,” Tiffany explained. “She had walked by and I was making all the other extras laugh… She said, ‘You’re a very funny young lady.'”
Oprah then asked the young unknown to stay in touch and keep her updated on what she had “going on” in her career, but Tiffany revealed Winfrey “never wrote back”, despite sending her six letters – including one to her best friend, TV personality Gayle King.
Host Ellen DeGeneres, who is neighbours with Oprah, then stunned Tiffany by suggesting they ask the superstar directly, and the 64-year-old walked out to huge cheers.
Tiffany and Oprah later posed for a photo together backstage, which the TV titan shared on her Instagram page.
“Look who I just surprised @theellenshow.. @tiffanyhaddish…,” she wrote, encouraging fans to tune in to the episode when it aired on Thursday (22Feb18).
The overjoyed Hollywood newcomer reposted the picture on her own profile multiple times and exclaimed, “So just so yall (sic) know I posted it three times because I am that damn happy! Yes! Yes! Yes I cried and yes I asked her to be my auntie! So all thanks be to God for always coming thru you hear my (prayers) and answer accordingly amen (sic)!”
Ellen also helped Tiffany live out her dream of hitting the kitchen with Oprah when she asked the stars, who both take pride in their gardening skills, to participate in a cooking segment, for which the 38-year-old made her “joyful greens” dish – the same side she previously served up for another new pal, Taylor Swift at a 2017 post-Saturday Night Live party.
The actress and comedienne was invited to a potluck dinner by Swift, after the two women teamed up for the U.S. TV sketch show in November.
