Tim McGraw & Faith Hill play secret Santa to shoppers

Country couple Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill turned Mr and Mrs. Claus in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this week (beg05Dec16) when they covered struggling shoppers’ layaway bills.
Christmas came early for the Walmart shoppers when the singers handed over $5,000 (£3,900) to pay off instalments for holiday gifts.
The cash gifts were inspired by McGraw’s mum Betty Trimble, according to television station WJAX.
She paid off outstanding layaway purchases, while some deserving Walmart shoppers were handed cards with cash inside. The cards read: “Merry Christmas, Tim McGraw + Faith Hill and Family.”
It is not clear why Tim’s mum and the stars chose the Jacksonville Walmart for their secret Santa gifts, but Trimble lives near the store.
It has been a big week for McGraw and his family – his teenage daughter, Audrey, turned 15 on Tuesday (06Dec16) – the same day he picked up a Grammy nomination for his hit Humble and Kind.
