Tom Green becomes a U.S. citizen

Comedian Tom Green has finally become a U.S. citizen, two decades after leaving his native Canada to pursue his showbiz career.
The Road Trip star, who was briefly married to Drew Barrymore, celebrated his new status on Wednesday (20Feb19), as he joined hundreds of other new Americans for a naturalisation oath ceremony at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The 47 year old tells TMZ he sought out citizenship in the U.S. so he can take part in the democratic process and vote in the 2020 presidential election.
However, that doesn’t mean he’s turned his back on Canada, as he now holds dual citizenship.
