Tom Hanks has dethroned Denzel Washington to be named America’s Favorite Movie Star in a new online countdown.
The Big star topped the annual Harris Poll for 2016, taking over the title from last year’s (15) favourite Denzel and marking his fifth time at the top following previous wins in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2013.
Johnny Depp came second place in the new countdown, ahead of last year’s (15) winner Denzel at three.
The top all-male five was rounded out by late movie legend John Wayne at four, and Harrison Ford at five, with Sandra Bullock as the highest-placed woman at number six.
Other stars featured in the top 10 include Jennifer Lawrence, Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts.
