Insurance companies representing residents at the building in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village have filed suit against the actress alleging her “negligence” led to a leak in 2010 which caused more than $128,000 (£80,000) in damage to other properties.
The apartments which were allegedly damaged include a home owned by Hairspray director John Waters.
The lawsuit was filed at a court in Manhattan earlier this week (beg30Jan12), according to the Associated Press.
