The veteran director, whose credits include Mulholland Drive, Wild at Heart, Eraserhead, and TV show Twin Peaks, will be handed the prestigious Cologne Film Prize at the annual event to mark his long-running career.
As part of their celebration of his work, organisers are screening several of Lynch’s movies during the festival, according to Variety.com.
Previous recipients of the award, launched in 2007, include Roman Polanski and Belgian brothers Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne.
