Tori Spelling claps back at ‘shameful’ online trolls

Tori Spelling has hit back at “mommy shamers” after they criticized the appearance of her young children.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star took to Instagram on Thursday (06Sep18) to share a happy snap of sons Liam, 11, and Finn, six, and daughters Stella, 10, and Hattie, six, gearing up for their first day back at school.

“School officially began today for my 4 older kiddos…” the mother-of-five captioned the image, referencing to the absence of her youngest child with husband Dean McDermott, 18-month-old son Beau. “This marks the first year that they’ll all be in the same school at the same time. You know what that means? For one year and one year only ONLY 1 drop off = Happy Mom (sic)”

However, the post was quickly flooded with a barrage of comments, after social media trolls took issue with the children’s appearances and criticized everything from their weight to the way they were dressed.

“They just rolled out of bed and put on what was on the floor,” one user wrote, while another blasted: “Not one of these children isn’t wearing hand me downs or something bought from a yard sale.”
A third remarked: “The kids are fat. Fat isn’t healthy.”

The criticism didn’t sit well with the TV personality, who called out her haters in the comments and slammed her critics for shaming both her and her kids.

“I am a proud mama bear and I enjoy sharing our family journey with my family, friends, fans and online supportive and loyal community,” Tori, 45, wrote. “For all the individuals on here that felt the need to #momshame and #kidshame me and my children I say ‘Shame on you!’ I was raised to believe that if you can’t say anything nice about someone then don’t say anything at all.”

Concluding her response by encouraging her fans to help stamp out online bullying for good, she added: “Lift others up and you in turn lift yourself up #endcyberbullying.”
