The star, who is based in Los Angeles, was travelling with Liam, five, four-year-old Stella, Hattie, 15 months, and baby Finn when her vehicle began leaking gas and spluttered to a stop.
Spelling took to her Twitter.com page to share her car catastrophe with fans, uploading a photograph of the group looking forlorn at the side of the road.
She declared, “4 kids. 1 dog. 1 car leaking gas broken down on the side of the road= not a great road trip.”
