Actress Tracee Ellis Ross lost her 2017 Golden Globe minutes after her big win during a frantic bathroom stall dress drama.
The Black-ish star, who is the daughter of soul legend Diana Ross, was changing outfits for the Globe after-parties when she forgot all about her Best Actress statuette.
“I decided to change my dress and I went into the bathroom in the ballroom, and I couldn’t get in and out of the dress by myself…,” she tells host Ellen DeGeneres in an interview which will air on Thursday (20Apr17) “My friend took me out of the dress, we went into the handicap stall, because it had enough room for two of us, laid the dress on the floor, standing there in a G-string and pasties with no service on my phone.
“She ran out to go get my stylist, I stood there for 20 minutes, naked, in the bathroom… I was rushing when they came back in to finally change me (and) I left it (award).”
Someone spotted the trophy and handed it to security but for a while Tracee feared she had lost what she had won: “I went back in (to the bathroom), it had been given to security, and they couldn’t find it,” she recalls. “It was so dramatic… I was sweating profusely, but I do have it.”
