Trisha Yearwood launches line of barbecue sauces

Country star Trisha Yearwood has launched a line of sauces and mixes for barbecuing.
The singer has teamed up with bosses at furniture and kitchenware retailer Williams-Sonoma to release the line, available online from Thursday (27Apr17). It will hit stores next month May (17).
The collection, which will include Trisha’s BBQ Sauce, Trisha’s Applewood Molasses Rub, and Trisha’s Summer in a Cup Cocktail, was inspired by the star’s favourite recipes for when she’s entertaining at home with her husband Garth Brooks.
“We’re not really formal entertainers,” she tells People magazine. “When we have friends over, it’s not, ‘What’s the theme for the party? How are we going to set the table?’ – that’s not how we do. It’s more, ‘Hey, the sun’s out today, want to come over and get in the pool and we’ll figure out something?'”
And each of Trisha’s products has a personal memory behind it.
“What I love about it is every recipe has a story,” she explains. “The story for Summer in a Cup is a true story from living in Oklahoma and my friend Mandy made up this drink with fruit juice and coconut rum and we tasted it and she said, ‘That’s summer in a cup’, and it just kind of stuck, so it’s the perfect name for the drink.”
Working with bosses at Williams-Sonoma has been a thrill for Trisha because she has been a huge fan of the company for years.
“Before I could afford to shop there, I dreamed about it,” she continues. “The first time after I had some success, I went in and bought a set of pans and it was a big, big moment for me, because it’s really been my dream. This collaboration has been a big dream for me.”
