True Blood stars film anti-bullying ads

The actor and his TV co-stars Kristin Bauer van Straten and Rutina Wesley have joined forces with The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention organisation which provides support for youths in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

They have filmed individual commercials promoting the organisation’s motivational message, “It gets better”.

In Skarsgard’s PSA, he says, “My name is Alexander Skarsgard and I believe that it gets better when parents start to lead by example. We have to teach our children that, not only through our words but also through our actions, that every single human being has equal value and to bully someone or force society to discriminate against someone because they have a different sexual orientation is unacceptable. I don’t have any children yet, but the day I do, I will make sure that they, before they can walk, before they can even crawl, know how important that is and I hope you do the same. It gets better.”
