TV’s Noah Hawley developing Doctor Doom movie

Fargo screenwriter has announced plans to develop a movie.
The small screen whiz, who has won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe over the years, revealed the news while attending San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday (20Jul17), where he sat as part of the panel for his TV show Legion.
“It’s worth mentioning a film that I’m developing at Fox which you guys might be excited about,” he told the audience at the event. “I’ll just say two words. The first one is Doctor, and the second one is Doom.”
It’s thought Hawley will not only write the screenplay for the project but is looking to direct, according to The Hollywood Report. No other names have been linked to the venture as yet.
Marvel character Doctor Doom, whose alter ego is Victor Von Doom, was first brought to life on the big screen by actor Julian McMahon in 2005’s Fantastic Four and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, though both didn’t fare well with audiences and critics.
Toby Kebbell played him in 2015’s reboot starring Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, though Hawley’s offering would be the first feature dedicated to the villain.
Doctor Doom is known for his signature green cloak, iron gloves and metal mask to hide his disfigured face. In the original Marvel comics, he was introduced as a scientific genius who rules the fictional country Latveria, boasting powers including super strength, sorcery and the ability to project and absorb energy.
He was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, first appearing on paper in 1962.
