U.K. food watchdog clears Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop after investigation

Officials at Britain’s Food Standards Agency (FSA) have cleared Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop following an investigation into one of its products.
Recent correspondence between officials at the food watchdog and staff at British charity The Good Thinking Society indicated that FSA chiefs were mulling investigations into its products, including The Mother Load, a supplement containing vitamin A that Goop executives marketed at mothers-to-be.
U.K. National Health Service (NHS) advice states prospective mums should avoid taking supplemental doses of vitamin A.
However, an FSA spokesperson has now revealed that while they did investigate The Mother Load, they found that it had not been sold by Goop in Britain, and that officials will not be taking any action over other products sold by the firm that were brought to their attention.
Speaking about the matter, a Goop representative commented to WENN: “We are not aware of any current investigations in the U.K. regarding products sold by Goop. As to Mother Load, it has never been sold in the U.K.”
