U.K. “Survivor” show collapses on second night

Hopes by Britain’s commercial ITV network to duplicate the American success of Survivor appeared dashed Wednesday when results were released for Tuesday night’s telecast showing that audiences had deserted the show in droves following the debut telecast on Monday. According to a BBC report, Survivor drew an audience of 4.4 million, only a million more than the audience for the low-rated Chelsea Flower Show. However, the BBC acknowledged, most of the second Survivor episode was comprised of an interview with the first contestant who was voted off the show.
